Thimbelina has been established for 35 years, under the ownership of Sarah for the last 19 years. The team are well known within Yorkshire and beyond for their knowledge and expertise in all aspects of bespoke dressmaking. Thimbelina have many regulars and the team welcome new clients daily with requests varying from a hand embellished couture bridal gown, a complete remodelling of a loved ones dress, to a pair of perfectly fitting tailored trousers. We are happy to meet with you, listen, design and guide you to create your perfect clothing vision.

Thimbelina are a small group of experienced bespoke dress-makers based in the centre of York. We work with you to create your made-to-measure dream outfit from design to completion. We do everything by hand within our premises where you will meet our small team of expert seamstresses. We can make your vision real whilst you sit with our designers, due to the fact we make our own patterns and have toile fittings we can make your chosen design work with your body shape.

Our in-house team of experienced designers, seamstresses and tailors can design, produce, alter, remodel and recycle pretty much any item of clothing required. These can include:

• Bridalwear - Including bespoke wedding dresses, groom’s attire, mother of the bride, bridesmaids dresses, flower girls and pageboys’ outfits. Bridal party evening gowns and general day wear.

• Special occasionwear - Including bespoke prom dresses & younger events, christening gowns, evening wear and all other special occasions.

• Remodelling - Existing items of clothing and recycling material to make new outfits.
